My iPhone/iPod Touch Apps!!!!

I’ve been thinking lately about  how exclusively I use my iPod Touch.  Ok the 3 of us are using iPod Touches with an iPone thrown in there.  That trickle down of electronics is in play again. I have the newest 2 nd Gen iPod touch a 16GB variety, Matt has a 4GB 1st Gen iphone, and Emmy has a 8GB 1st Gen ipod touch- which really when in my hands was dying a slow death but with her all of the buttons seem to work just fine.  I do drool over the 32GB ipod touch and the new iphone I would probably give away the boy for one, but at this point we are simply going to limp along with our old technology.

But I do like the fact that even though we don’t have the new sparkly white 32GB iPhone 3Si (that did come out in the 32 GB variety didn’t it?).  We still have access to all of those pesky little apps at the itunes store, and for those with small kids be careful with those passwords- little fingers are great at buying Sims3 while mom was only drooling over it.  But once it was purchased and on 2 of the 3 ipods, the little finger pusher was disconnected from the WiFi for awhile.

But now onto the meat of my post those nice apps.  With 2 kids going in different directions and me going in a 3rd, and living week to week as a struggling student on only child support at the consistent income at this point and time (yes its hard to go to mom and dad for help at practically 37  when I need some help so we really do try to make sure that doesn’t happen).  So I need things to keep us on time, on budget, current with everything under the sun, and also to keep the 4 year old entertained in a pinch.

So these are my favorite apps that are on my ipod:

  • Pocket Informant is what I use for my calendar, it is synced to my Google calendars (and I have many of them separating kids/work/school/home things.  Also the ability to since with Toodledo for to do lists is really nice.
  • Listomni Lists is what I really use for lists.  This has all of my to do lists, the shopping list, the list of books or movies that I’d like to read or see. All so lists for my classes, though for those I am starting to use Pocket Informant and linking to the calendar.  The ability to create  your own lists makes this a very powerful tool to me.
  • iXpenseIt is what  use to keep track of the budget here. It has everything that I need to keep track of spending in multiple categories.
  • Awesome Note is something I’ve been using instead of sticky notes, its great to put a blurb on a note then I can go to the appropriate other app for what ever I need to do, instead of just blundering around.  Then when the item is done I can delete the note.
  • Facebook is pretty self explanatory, I need a way to keep up with my friends- now if only it would allow me to play those facebook games it would be completely perfect.
  • Twitterrific is what I use for twitter.
  • Allowance is what I use to keep track of the kids allowances, though they still rarely do the chores to get one.
  • Ebay and Paypal are on there to, though I have not used them much lately.
  • Gas Cubby is what I use to keep track of gas milage for the car.
  • Virtual Families is one of the games that I play to kill time.
  • Cooking dash is the other game I fool around with to kill time.

I’m sure that there are probably better apps out there, but these are the ones that I have found help me to keep up with our life here.
