So Tired

Today I started another semester at the local Community College. With an 8 am class, those were killers the first time around, with 2 kids to get to 2 different schools our days are starting way to early.

Another unfun thing about these classes is that they are long 2 3/4 hours long.

1 is a graphics class, which is good because I know the programming and have played with Photoshop but only played not really learned how to really use it.  At least with that class I am not the only girl, nor the oldest one there.

The other class is a Game Development class, and I love the teacher I’ve had her for several on-line classes and she is even more fun in person.  But I am the oldest and the only girl, beside the teacher.

Next Monday will be worse because I will have to go back for a night class……..what was I thinking……

The worst part is dealing with the other students, especially 1 in particular.  Now I usually can get along with everyone- I’m very hard to tick off or annoy.  But when a student is always fooling around on the computer, checking facebook or gaming sites, does not listen to instructions and then has to ask for help with what the teacher just went over.  Ugh ticks me off.  Then add into it they print something during class and get up in the middle of the lecture to get the papers they printed. Also playing video clips loudly during class, and trying to be all cool and all asking questions to the other students about movies, videos or music.

I really don’t like judging people, but this is so hard for me not to.  The amount of disrespect this person exhibited today is really something I would not tolerate at all from either one of my kids. Something as a parent I feel very strongly about, I wish I had the guts to say something maybe that is what I need to do- bring it to this students attention that what he is doing is wrong, I will have to think about this.

Never a Dull Moment Here

So this morning while at school finishing up a computer program due next week I ran into my teacher for that class.  We just had the last QBasic test yesterday, I knew that I scored a 98 on the test due to the grade being posted.  But what my teacher told me this morning is that I actually made the top score in the class, I don’t think I’ve ever had that honor before (I am not a good test taker at all, it took me 3 tries to pass a math test so that I could qualify for my BS in math many years ago) so this really was good news.

But then I had a blast from the past, it seems like my kids dad lost his job today, thankfully that won’t have too much of an impact here, since we’ve cut things down to almost no extras, and my parents have offered to help.  The only thing I need to do very quickly is get some insurance for the kids, I have 20 days left on Matt’s meds- we do not want to run out of those.  I hope for the best for their dad, but he’s made his choice to distance himself from me and the kids so he will need to lean on his new lady and his/their friends this time.  The last time this happened in ‘01 the day after Matt’s B-day party (11/5/01), he completely fell apart and things were really rough. I don’t wish anything bad on him, after all he is the father of my children but I do not plan on being sucked into any drama he might throw around- after all he is always the victim in every situation

It’s Been a Long and Tiring Week.

Even with the kids having Monday off this week just doesn’t want to end.  Both kids have has 1/2 days all week, mainly because I am trying to get Matt as well as possible as quickly as possible.  Better 1/2 days now than days off next week or the week after.  Next week he will be reeling from the make up work but next week he has Friday off for Parent Teacher Conferences.  Like I don’t know what they will say for both kids, at least I don’t have to worry about Matt’s behavior these days, it’s been really good as long as he can keep his head on his shoulders.

Living with a 4 year old is fun too, especially when she has to be involved in everything and do everything that both Matt and i do.  But she is spoiled rotten with attention, the lucky cuss.

To bad I didn’t do as good on my QBasic test on Monday, just an 88 while my last was a 90.  The perfectionist in me is screaming at me, but the part of me that know I do not tend to do good on test is happy enough with an 88. Now I’m just waiting on the outcome of my last project for that class, it wasn’t hard but it was very complex.

This weekend Matt has a swim meet that he is scheduled to be at both Sat and Sun, I don’t think he will make it through both days but we will try.  He is swimming in the afternoon so at least we won’t be leaving the house when it’s dark out.

I Am So Tired and Anoyed Right Now

I am currently taking 4 classes this semester at the local Community College. Well 1 book I found cheaper with one of the affiliates at Amazon.com. Now almost 13 days after the book was ordered it is still not here. For this class I wasn’t too concerned, since we didn’t need to use the book till the class last Thursday- thankfully I knew enough to get the majority of the work done without the book…. but I still need that book.  The next class is not till Tuesday I won’t have the book before then either, I did fined the book on the internet where I can preview the book- but I don’t know how long that will last.  Tuesday I will have to do battle and get an answer of when that book will come (with the Holiday weekend that is the soonest I can do this).

Ah another Tuesday has come and gone. I had to push to get 2 school work assignments done for my XML class. I also have 4 assignments to get done for my Dreamweaver class that are due tomorrow. At least those are fairly easy, for 2 of them its just following the exercises in the book and then the other 2 is taking the concepts I learned and applying them to my own website. Which last week I drastically changed the look of- so its time to really get into the look of that site. Thankfully with these assignments I’m forced to work on this final project. I also need to get working on the HTML/DHTML website I need to design, and the paper on XML. Ah so much to do for school and right now the drive is really not there- something to get working on.

I also need to get Matt’s bag packed for Friday when he goes away over night for a Band Conference. This is Matt’s year for over night trips with school, this Band Conference and then later this month he’s going to an Outdoor Education Camp. Emmy is going to be jealous, it would be nice if I could just send her along too.

I also need to get cracking on 2 assignments in my HTML/DHTML class- and if these are like the last chapter they will be a challenge.
