My Family is Going Green

We have started to go green in our home for several reason, first off it is better for the environment and it also can save us money.

In order to save both money and disposable cups, I am making my own coffee at home.  To help me with this change and to make this process more enjoyable I am buying a more expensive coffee. .

Another area we are helping the environment and saving money is in the kids lunch boxes.  In the past I have used those closable sandwich baggies for every little thing put into the lunch box.  To take the place of these sandwich baggies before school started at Ikea I picked up this set of plastic containers.  They also make the lunchable style lunches the kids both like easier to make.  One container for the crackers, meat, cheese, fruit

We also are using Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs. This is something that we have been doing over the past several years, when one of the old light bulbs burns out it is replaced with a Compact Fluorescent Light.
